Other Identity Re-verification Questions

Why is this required?

Pursuant to section 19(3) and section 22(1) of the BVI Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Code of Practice as amended, CoinList is required to screen users to ensure that no sanctioned individuals are transacting on the platform and identify politically exposed persons (PEPs) and individuals who have been connected to criminal activity. Pursuant to relevant regulations, CoinList is also required to conduct periodic AML/CFT/CPF reviews of our business relationships.

Why do I need to re-verify my account?

From time to time, CoinList is required to re-verify all users of the CoinList platform to confirm the following:

  • Transactions are in line with what is expected based on CoinList’s existing knowledge of the client; and
  • To refresh user’s due diligence to ensure documentation is kept up-to-date and that the risk category applied to a client is either the same as it was when they were onboarded or is amended to reflect any changes that may have occurred since onboarding.

What happens if I don’t re-verify?

Your account will be held in ‘withdraw only’ status until re-verification is complete. Please note that your assets are safe at all times.

How long will the process take?

Re-verification should take less than 5 minutes to complete, after which you’ll be able to transact as usual on the CoinList platform.

What do I have to provide to re-verify my account?

Government ID, updated selfie, and proof of address documentation issued within the last 3 months.

How do I start my re-verification

To begin, simply log in to your CoinList account and follow the re-verification instructions on your home dashboard.
